Bag Lady: Cubicle Trip

Like clockwork, I squinted at the bottom right hand of my computer screen. It was 11:15 a.m. and I was in need a break. Most people take cigarette or coffee breaks, but I take virtual shopping trips to all my favorite sites. Besides, my breaks are cheaper. If I were to do the math on how much each co-worker spends a week on their bad habits, I would be able to replace my beat up Longchamp Le’ Pliage tote (my lunch bag).
My first stop: Paris. I took a quick glance at the Yves St. Laurent Updated Muse Tote ($1,795) and wondered if I needed to upgrade. My Muse was purchased in 2006, in bag years, that’s a century ago. But there’s no time to dwell on the past - I’m off to Milan to visit Valentino. Valentino and I have a love-hate relationship. Today I love the Valentino Kaleido gem-embellished tote ($2,995). I already have the perfect booties to kick it up a notch. It’s a shame I wasn’t able to grab a baguette or cappuccino during my short stay in Europe. As usual, I promised myself that when I return, I will do what normal people do: visit the Eiffel Tower, see the ruins and eat!
11:35 a.m. - back to reality. My project is due at 5 p.m. but if I finish early, maybe I can catch the red eye to China. Hey, I’m on a budget

Peek-a-boo I want you

My office is located on 7th ave., aka Fashion Ave, So I'm constantly running into stylish women carrying the latest IT BAGS. Today's IT BAG is the ever so chic Fendi Peek-a-boo satchel. If you're not a label whore, then you will appreciate the subtle signature lining. The turn lock closure allows you and others(you will have admirers), to sneak a peek at a moments notice. This brilliant satchel is over $2000, but that's the look on Fashion Ave.

I'm hoping my company relocates.

Bag Lady: Catch of the Day

My feet hurt. I have been walking around all day for my next fix. I never thought it would get to this point. I almost bought the infamous Louis Vuitton Speedy 35! Clearly, I wasn’t thinking because I haven’t had a good meal in months. I opened my Rebecca Minkoff hobo and ripped open a Snickers bar with my teeth. A boost of temporary energy shot through my body and just like that I was able to focus. You see, I had important decisions to make - purchase my latest obsession, the Jimmy Choo Ramona studded leather bag or a more economical purchase, the studded Be & D Garbo Convertible Tote. I found myself outside Saks pacing back and forth. I looked like a crazy women, I laughed out loud when a homeless woman offered me her catch of the day. Quite honestly, I almost took her up on her offer.

Feeling good about myself, I decided to go with Be & D Garbo. I would save about $1,500 and that meant I could get enough groceries to fill my belly, a few items at Forever 21 and hit the scene with the girls. As soon as I was about to make a mental grocery list, the salesgirl (she was new) said they were sold out. I had an option to write my name down on the waiting list, but that could take weeks! I needed my fix now.... I suppose Jimmy was the man that could cure what ailed me.

Walking out of Saks has always been a euphoric occasion for me. This one was like no other. I passed the generous homeless woman and was tempted to ask for her leftovers. I quickly got that picture out of my head. I wouldn’t want to get any grease on my new Ramona bag!

I wonder what number I am on the waiting list and how many Snickers bars I will have to eat…

Obsession of the Week

I may be jumping the gun, but I'm already excited for the Fall. With that being said, Alexander Wang's Darcy is my Obsession of the Week. Darcy is the perfect accessory for your new fall wardrobe. Although, if Alexander would have consulted me first(Handbag Aficionado), I would have suggested gold studs and hardware. Speaking of things that are HARD; some people are complaining about the studs weighing them down. Lets not use the studs as scapegoat. How about we keep it light and get rid of the excess baggage in our BAGS.

Now, all I have to do is decide on what color to pick. Sigh, I wouldn't have that problem if I was on the payroll.
